YFD responded to a Fire on 10 Lewis St

Date: 01/18/18
Time: 2:18am
Where: 10 Lewis St – Yonkers

Yonkers 911 received a call reporting a fire on 10 Lewis St in Yonkers. Within minutes our YFD was on scene and shortly after the YPD/Empress EMS and OEM as well.

A elderly couple and their pet lived in this 2 family house, the owners evacuated themselves but unfortunately they were not able to take the little dog with them, at the time of this video the dog had not been located, its unknown if the dog was able to run away (we hope so), It reported that a fireman suffered burns to his hands and was transported to Jacobi Hospital.

The house suffered major fire damage but it appears that it was not a total lost, its unknown when the residents will be able to return.

Fire started on the 1st Floor and it does not appear to be suspicious.

Kudos to our Yonkers Fire Dept, Yonkers Police Dept, Empress EMS for a quick and effective response.
