Mt Vernon Shooting on Hutchinson Field Park

In regards to the homicide of 27 year old Orville Bell on Sunday, there have been reports/allegations that it was connected to an event held on Hutchinson Field Park in Mount Vernon, N.Y. In fact, the homicide took place 2 blocks away and not in the park as many bloggers and news reporters are reporting. Yonkers Voice interviewed several members of Mayor Thomas’s administration. And according to them all correct protocols where followed as it is when any other event of this type. According Chief Ziadie of the MVPD and Commissioner of Recreation Morton no protocol was breached and all the proper procedures were followed. Both department knew of the event taking place. MVPD had units and supervisors monitoring the area as well. Recreation Department stated that all permits were in place at the time of the event. We at Yonkers Voice provide facts in connection to our stories and not rhetoric and accusations to agitate the people in other to fulfill political goals.
